To all the Radio Expo and volunteers:
Thanks for helping make Radio Expo 2023 a success. With your help and other like-minded club members Radio Expo was a success.
The club even had a few volunteers who weren’t even Hams at the beginning of the day! After a VE session with Vern, K9VRT, that situation was rectified.
Congratulations to “Marla and Joe” who have been working very hard at passing the Technician test. Welcome to the Hobby and the Chicago FM Club.
Thanks also to Greg M. who helped out greatly at the gate. Greg is neither a Ham nor a club member. Kudos Greg.
The weather on both Saturday and Sunday at Radio Expo was picture perfect. Timing is everything! With so many moving parts it was really great to see our members, (and non members), wear so many hats. Although there was plenty of work to go around it was a breeze with so much input from our cadre of volunteers.
At this time, since it’s only Monday it’s too early to quantify just how successful R.E. was. But I’m confident you’ll be pleased with the fruits of your labor. Were there any hiccups?
Sure there were, but with such a diverse group of volunteers we just brushed them aside and problem-solved.
Overall the planning and execution of the event were excellent in no small part because of your help.
That’s enough for now, except for me to once again express my personal pride in the job you did to make the club’s annual fundraiser a success.
Congratulations! You made it happen.
