Wanda Marie Nagel, born on October 9, 1944, in Chicago, passed away, tragically, on October 23, 2023, in the same city. She lived on the NW side of Chicago.
Wanda’s life was a testament to resilience and positivity despite the challenges she faced. She will be fondly remembered as a kind and caring soul who always had a smile on her face. Ronald Bransky was her partner for 22 years, their companionship brought joy to them both.
Amateur Radio:
Wanda was a General Class amateur radio operator. Her amateur radio call sign was KC9LRZ. She was a member of the Chicago FM Club, CFMC, and attended meetings with the help of Mike Brost WA9FTS.
Despite dealing with physical challenges throughout her life, Wanda refused to let them define her. She approached every day with an upbeat attitude and maintained a positive outlook.
Wanda’s loyal companion, Marty, was never far from her side. Together they formed an unbreakable bond. Marty was not only her faithful protector but also her partner in the search for special treats that Wanda so generously provided. Their companionship brought joy and comfort to both of their lives.
On pleasant days, she would embark on adventures around the neighborhood on her trusty scooter. One of her favorite destinations was ‘Rolling Stones’ – on a quest for favorite music. It was during these moments that Wanda felt truly alive, embracing the world around her with boundless enthusiasm.
During colder days, when venturing outside became less attractive, Wanda would retreat indoors to indulge in one of her passions – knitting. It was within the warmth and comfort of her home that she created beautiful knitted pieces and charming cozy slippers that were adored by many. Her large CD collection filled her little home with music of all kinds.She was a member of Acacia Park Lutheran Church, and would attend as often as she could get there.
Wanda will forever be remembered for her remarkable strength and resilience. Her positive attitude in the face of adversity touched the hearts of all who knew her. She never complained about her physical challenges, instead choosing to focus on spreading happiness and love to those around her.Her memory will forever be engraved in our hearts as a beacon of strength and positivity. May she find eternal peace in the presence of her Savior.
